Is it possible to do business without violating any law or resorting to any illegal activity? This is very important for some people because these issues never get prominence when one is working as a salaried employee. Even if certain illegal activities take place, they are the ultimate responsibility of the entrepreneur or the owner of the business.
The employee may not agree with such an approach but, when push comes to shove, the employee prefers to obey orders even if they are not legally right. Well, there are numerous instances in history that have shown us that honest businessman and entrepreneurs can easily survive. In fact, such businessmen have actually made it very big in the past.
Of course, if you do not want to bribe your way to the top, you will have to be prepared to work very hard. For starters, there are unscrupulous individuals in all walks of life. They often recognize each other and try to help each other out.
Hence, the competitor who does not bother a lot about laws and legalities may easily find government officials, suppliers, employees of other organizations and various other individuals who support the way he or she does business. If you want to compete against such persons and still retain your honesty and integrity, you will have to work doubly hard.
Many persons are prepared to cut down on profits in order to avoid doing anything illegal. However, that would merely be playing into the hands of the unscrupulous competitors. If you start compromising on profits and if you start reducing your benchmarks, it is just a question of time before you are thrown out of business.
A smart businessman would be one who will convert his or her honesty into a unique feature. You will have to market all your skills and abilities including your honest approach towards business to ensure you get best possible remuneration and benefits from the client.
